Exhibits detailing the region's history from the mid 1800s throughout the 1940s. STOP AND VIEW OUR WOOLY MAMMOTH TUSK FOUND IN BUTLER COUNTY, THOUGHT TO BE AT LEAST 12,000 YEARS OLD! You will find our arrowhead collection to be one of the most interesting in the state. Rotating exhibits include residents' hobbies and collections. FREE admission. Mon-Fri 11am to 3 pm, Sat-Sun 1 pm to 4 pm. You don't want to miss our Yesteryear Fair held annually in October. Blacksmithing, wood carving, music, exhibits and food. A nostalgic visit back in time. Visit our newly constructed Blacksmith Shop equipped with all the tools and coal-fired forge from the late 1800s. View all the beautiful Kansas wildflowers in our Native Flower Garden just west of the museum. Great place to hang out and have a picnic!

The C.N. James Log Cabin, established in 1868 as a Trading Post and home to Chester and Augusta James. The Trading Post was also home to Augusta's first Post Office, first school and the first meeting place for two churches.     Play Pointe Park

PlayPark Pointe on North Ohio Street near Augusta City Lake is a magical community built playground with castles, swings, and slides. It is a wonderful place for youngsters and their families.
